I'm getting errors when I upload my file, what's going on?

Here's a few common problems we see frequently:

  1. It's not an entry history file. Some sites offer other kinds of CSV export, like line-up details, contest standings, and transaction logs. RotoTracker doesn't deal with any of these — just entry history files, please!
  2. You've uploaded a file from a site that we don't support. If that's the case, please let us know!
  3. The file has been saved via Excel or another spreadsheet application. Spreadsheet programs have a nasty habit of making changes to the file — localizing times, reformatting currencies, etc. While RotoTracker handles many of these scenarios, it can still get tripped up. To ensure this doesn't happen, it is best to save the CSV file direct to your desktop (not via Excel). You can do this by right-clicking on the link to download your CSV and selecting "save link as" to save the file, rather than open it in a spreadsheet program.
