RotoTracker Sync Has Been Removed from the Chrome App Store — Here's How to Fix
While we are appealing the decision, there are easy steps you can take to enable RT Sync in the Chrome browser.
On Sunday, April 2nd, after more than eight years with our app in the app store, with tens of thousands of happy users and many five-star ratings, RotoTracker Sync was removed from the Chrome app store. We were told that this was because it "facilitates online gambling."
Of course, RotoTracker Sync does no such thing — it just helps users keep their daily fantasy data up to date. It doesn't in any way aid gambling. We have appealed this decision and hope it will be reinstated soon.
However, while this appeal is pending, unfortunately our users have found that the extension has been deleted from their browsers, with no warning. We can only apologize for this inconvenience and hope this is rectified soon.
In the interim, however, there are various other options to keep your data in sync:
- Install the extension manually. Perhaps the most straightforward way is to load the extension manually. We have created a new FAQ with step-by-step instructions on how to do this. It'll take a few minutes, but once done you'll have RT Sync back in your Chrome browser, just as before.
- Install it on another browser — like Firefox, Brave or Microsoft Edge. If you're peeved that Google can reach in and delete one of your extensions without your knowledge, then you might want to try another browser that has less over-reach. RT Sync is available in the Firefox app store as well. The extension works exactly the same way. You can also install RT Sync on other Chromium-based browsers, like Brave and Edge, following the manual steps outlined in #1 above. If there's interest from users, we will look at submitting our extension to the app stores of these browsers too — get in touch and let us know!
- Manual uploads This is far from ideal, but if you don't want to do either of the above, you always have the option of uploading files manually, of course. Just follow the steps on the Uploads page — see the sidebar "Or Manually Upload Files" for more details.
